Virginia Cielo joined Hispanic Unity in 2006 as Director of Finance, promoted to CFO in 2007 and subsequently to COO/CFO in 2010. In this role, she oversaw finance, budgeting and financial management of programs, financial forecasting, financial reporting requirements, annual audit activities and administrative services and operations required to support the agency’s programs.

Prior to joining HUF Virginia was Vice President of BC&A, a consulting firm specializing in finance, accounting, audits, inventory, operations, and management primarily for clients in the non-profit sector. Before joining BC&A, Virginia was president of First Recruiters Group, a permanent and temporary personnel firm specializing in the areas of finance/accounting, marketing, sales, human resources, and administrative personnel.

From 1977 – 1985 Virginia held a variety of senior leadership roles at American Bankers Insurance Group, including Assistant Vice President in the life company,Assistant Secretary & Director of Investor Relationsin the holding company, Business Board Controller for 3 businesses with annual sales ranging from $20M to $100M, and Director of General Accounting.

Virginia holds an M.B.A. in International Business from the University of Miami.

Hispanic Unity of Florida (HUF) is a non-profit founded in 1982 by community leaders to ease the acculturation transition for newcomers from other nations. Today, HUF provides assistance through 12 programs and 30+ services in four languages to South Florida's diverse community. HUF, an UnidosUS Affiliate, is one of South Florida’s largest agencies dedicated to the immigrant population, providing them with the tools they need to build a new life. Since its inception, HUF has served nearly 500,000 people.
