Plantation, Fla. – [October 23, 2025] – In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, a special partnership between Hispanic Unity of Florida (HUF) and Coke Florida had student success at the center: thanks to a generous donation from Coke Florida, 35 students at Plantation High School received brand new laptops and headsets to support their academic journey.
The students now have access to tools to complete assignments, research colleges, apply for scholarships, and build essential digital skills for a brighter future.
Each recipient is enrolled in the Broward UP Promise Neighborhoods program. The Promise Neighborhoods initiative, funded by the U.S. Department of Education, provides cradle-to-career support for children in underserved communities. In Broward County, this means ensuring students have access to technology, mentorship, and resources that support their academic success and future professional journeys.
“Receiving 35 computers and headsets from Coca-Cola Florida is more than a generous donation, it’s a powerful investment in the future of our community” said Felipe Pinzon, President and CEO of Hispanic Unity of Florida. These tools will help bridge the digital divide for families and individuals striving to build better lives. When a student has their own computer, they gain a sense of ownership. They can excel because they finally have the right tools to learn, grow, and thrive.”
The donation aligns with HUF’s mission to empower immigrants and others to become self-sufficient, productive, and civically engaged. For more information about Hispanic Unity of Florida, visit www.hispanicunity.org.
